We have been influencing women across Australia and New Zealand since the 1930s when one of our most well-known brands, The Australian Women’s Weekly, began publishing.
Since that time, we’ve grown to become Australia and New Zealand’s leading multi-channel publisher, connecting with 6 in 10 Australian women. Our audience relies on us for entertainment, inspiration, information and escapism.
Our story first started in 1932 when Sir Frank Packer and Edward Theodore came together to form Sydney Newspapers Ltd, which would later merge with Associated Press and eventually become Australian Consolidated Press. European publishing giant Bauer Media acquired ACP Magazines in 2012 and expanded further in 2020 by merging with Pacific Magazines and welcoming iconic titles such as Marie Claire and Better Homes and Gardens.
A new chapter has recently begun under our new owners, Mercury Capital as Are Media. Under their ownership, along with our bolstered portfolio across lifestyle, entertainment, fashion, beauty, homes and food, we now have unparalleled opportunities to connect with more women than ever before.
Like our new owners, we will continue to be future-focused and push the boundaries to ensure we’re delivering the best content to all Australians and New Zealanders.
